Watkins College of Art & Design and the Watkins Film School are award-winning, nationally-accredited colleges offering bachelor of fine art degrees in film, graphic design, interior design, photography, and fine arts. Known for its intimate and community-like culture, Watkins College boasts a low student-professor ratio and strong internship programs. Programs: Bachelor of Fine Arts:

Graphic Design

  • The curriculum emphasizes conceptual and thoughtful design as well as exceptional typography to prepare students for careers in art direction and design.

Interior Design

  • This program focuses on the creation of innovative environments that are designed to solve problems related to public health, safety, and welfare. The program is accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation, formerly FIDER.

Fine Arts

  • Students learn drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, clay, and time-based media in an interdisciplinary approach with all the college's departments.

Photography

  • The photography program focuses on contemporary and historical photographic practices and traditions and allows students to experiment with various forms of media.

Film

  • Students explore the artistic, technical, and business aspects of independent filmmaking. Concentrations are available in producing, directing, screenwriting, cinematography, and editing

Watkins also offers professional certificates in film for students already in possession of a bachelor degree.

Location: Watkins is located in Nashville, Tennessee, at 2298 Metro Center Boulevard.

Financial Aid: Watkins participates in federal and state loan and grant programs, as well as the Tennessee State Lottery Scholarship. The college also offers its own grant and scholarship programs based on both merit and financial need.

Career Services: Career planning assistance as well as multidisciplinary internship posts are available to students. Job placement rates for many departments exceed 94%.

Watkins College of Arts and Design and The Watkins Film School are nationally-accredited through NASAD, the National Association of Schools of Art and Design.
